Questions we hear a lot

How much does solar cost in Oregon?

It is different for every home and depends on your roof and how much power you use. Ask us for a free quote and we give you a real written price.

What incentives are available?

Energy Trust of Oregon and state programs may apply. The federal homeowner solar credit has ended, and business credits may still apply. We check every one for you.

Do I need solar panels to get a battery?

No. A battery can charge from the grid or from solar. We set it up either way.

Which home battery brands do you install?

We install Enphase, Sigenergy, and FranklinWH batteries. All three work with or without solar, and Sigenergy and FranklinWH can be added to solar you already have. We help you pick the right one.

Will removing and reinstalling my panels void my warranty?

No. We follow the manufacturer's rules to take panels off and put them back.

Does insurance cover solar removal and reinstall?

A normal re-roof usually is not covered, but a storm claim might be. We give you a written estimate for your adjuster.

How much does a whole-house generator cost installed?

It depends on your home. It takes an electrician and a gas connection, and both change the price. Ask us for a free quote.

Do I need a permit for a backup generator in Oregon?

Yes. We pull the permit for you.

How much does home EV charger installation cost?

It depends on your home. Some homes need extra panel work. We check your panel, then give you a real quote.

Do I need an electrical panel upgrade to install an EV charger?

Sometimes. Older panels may not have the capacity. We check your panel during your free quote and tell you what you need.

Why is my insurance company requiring a panel upgrade?

Some older panel brands, like FPE and Zinsco, are a known fire risk. Insurers flag them. A panel upgrade fixes it.

Can my business get a tax credit for solar?

Yes, business solar may qualify for credits. This is not the same as the homeowner credit, which has ended. Ask us how it may apply.

Do you service solar systems you did not install?

Yes. We service existing and orphaned systems, including those whose installer went out of business.

Are you licensed electricians?

Yes. Our Oregon CCB license number is 202002, and licensed electricians are on our own crew.

Where do you work?

We serve the Portland metro area, the Willamette Valley, and SW Washington. Our office is in Oregon City.
