What is happening with LG home batteries
Two separate LG companies, two separate stories. Many owners hear both at once and are not sure what applies to them.
- LG Electronics is leaving home energy storage. It says it will keep honoring existing limited warranties and tells owners to contact their installer for support. Read LG's notice.
- LG Energy Solution recalled certain RESU 10H batteries in the US because they can overheat. Affected units get a remedy from LG Energy Solution. See LG Energy Solution's battery site.
- Not every LG battery is affected. Your model and serial number decide it.
How to check your LG battery
- Find the label. The model and serial number are on the side of the battery cabinet.
- Check the recall. Look it up with LG Energy Solution, or call us and we look it up with you.
- Check that it still reports. If your monitoring app shows errors or the battery stopped charging, tell us.
- Got a letter from LG? Bring it to us and we read it with you before you decide anything.

Is LG still honoring the warranty?
LG Electronics says it will keep honoring existing limited warranties while it leaves the home battery business. It tells owners to contact their installer for warranty support.
Can you replace an LG battery with a different brand?
Yes. We install Enphase, FranklinWH, and Sigenergy batteries. Whether your current inverter and backup wiring can stay depends on your system, so we check that first.
Do I have to be an Energy Solutions customer?
