Estacada: your own power, in the town that powered Portland
Estacada began as a camp for crews building the Clackamas River dam that sent power to Portland. Now its homes can make and store their own.

What we do in Estacada
We bring backup power, solar, panel upgrades, EV chargers, and solar repair to Estacada homes and businesses. Estacada is a city of about 4,400 people on the Clackamas River, roughly 30 miles southeast of Portland, with farmland on two sides and the Mount Hood National Forest to the north and east.
A town born from hydropower
In the early 1900s the town grew up around a work camp for a hydroelectric dam on the Clackamas River built to supply Portland. Portland General Electric still runs hydro plants on the river near Estacada, and its century-old South Milliken transmission lines run from Boring through town.
The power that leaves the canyon travels a long way on lines that pass through high-fire-risk country. A home that can carry itself through an outage does not depend on every mile of that line holding up.
Fire season and backup power
In September 2020 the Riverside Fire burned to the edge of town and put the City of Estacada under a Level 3 "Go Now" evacuation; it was not lowered until September 21. Fire season, ice storms, and long rural lines all make backup power worth planning for here.
A home battery switches on by itself and runs quietly, and it recharges from solar. A whole-house generator runs on natural gas or propane for as long as fuel lasts. We size either one to the circuits you need and pull the permit.
Solar, and fixing solar someone else left
New residential solar or commercial solar works here when the site has open sun; we check shade from the hills and trees first. If you already have panels and the company that installed them is gone, our orphaned-system service finds and fixes the problem. Replacing a roof? We do solar removal and reinstall.
The federal homeowner credit ended at the end of 2025; we check which Oregon programs may still apply.
Longer drives, home charging, and panel room
Estacada's average commute runs about 31 minutes each way, around a quarter longer than the metro average, so charging an EV overnight at home is worth it. We check the panel first, then install the EV charger. If the panel is full or dated, an electrical panel upgrade or broader service upgrade comes first.
We also serve Boring, Damascus, and Molalla. Request a free quote or call (971) 526-5545.
Questions we hear a lot
Do you serve Estacada and the area up the Clackamas River?
Yes. Estacada is in our service area, and all of our services are available there. Ask about your address when you call.
Will a battery keep my Estacada home running in a long outage?
A battery covers the circuits you choose, and solar can recharge it each day. For very long outages, a generator or a larger battery bank may fit better.
My solar installer went out of business. Can you help?
Yes. We service and repair systems other companies installed, including ones whose installer has closed.
