Check you are inside Milwaukie first
The city jurisdiction page warns that the city in your mailing address does not necessarily mean you live inside city limits. That decides which building office issues your solar permit, so we confirm it before we file. Inside the city, permits run through the state e-permitting system, and the forms page lists a Solar Installation Form for the prescriptive install and an Electrical Permit Application. The city contracts Clackamas County for electrical plan review and inspections.
PGE and seven neighborhood districts
The city says PGE offers Milwaukie residents home charging rebates, and PGE's territory map shows Milwaukie. PGE takes interconnection applications online through PowerClerk. Energy Trust of Oregon solar incentives are open to Oregon customers of PGE or Pacific Power. Milwaukie has seven Neighborhood District Associations: Ardenwald-Johnson Creek, Hector Campbell, Historic Milwaukie, Island Station, Lake Road, Lewelling, and Linwood.
Milwaukie's older houses
The median Milwaukie home was built in 1968 and 61 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied (Census ACS 2020-2024). With houses that old, the electrical panel deserves a look before panels go on the roof, and we offer that as part of the free visit.
